What a website costs with me – no need to ask.
These are my actual prices: a fixed price if you buy, a monthly price if you rent. Both apply to a new build as much as to modernizing an existing website. What is included and what is not is listed right next to it.
All prices are net, plus 19 % German VAT. The offer is aimed at businesses, self-employed people and freelancers.
Maintenance – part of buying
When you buy, ongoing maintenance is optional. It comes in two variants, and the only difference is where the website is hosted.
Maintenance without hosting. Content changes, technical updates and help when something breaks. Hosting, domain and SSL stay on your side.
The same maintenance, plus hosting, domain and SSL. You don't have to take care of any of it yourself.
In the rental model, maintenance including hosting, domain and SSL is already part of the monthly price.
What does each way cost over time?
The calculator compares total cost: buying at €690 one-time plus maintenance including hosting at €49/month, against renting at €69/month.

Honestly: renting is the cheaper way in, buying is cheaper in the long run. Which one fits depends less on the total than on how you prefer to plan.
Which one fits whom?
Buying
Buying fits if you see the website as an investment and want it to belong to you. You pay once, then decide freely whether to add maintenance, and you can have someone else look after the site later on. If you already have hosting and a domain, you simply stay there.
Renting
Renting fits if the start shouldn't fail because of an upfront sum and you would rather not deal with technology at all. Hosting, domain, SSL and maintenance are included, and the monthly amount stays predictable. You rent the website, it stays with me during that time – and I look after it throughout.

What happens after the minimum term?
The minimum term in the rental model is 6 months. After that it continues monthly and can be cancelled monthly – nothing renews automatically for another year.
Who owns the domain?
You do. The domain is registered in your name, even when it is managed through me in the rental model. If you cancel, the domain moves with you.
Who owns the website when renting?
The website itself stays with me for as long as it is rented – in return, hosting, maintenance and technical support are included throughout. Buying works the other way round: there, the finished website belongs to you.
Can I switch from renting to buying later?
Yes, that is possible. What it looks like in your case depends on how long the website has been running and what has been added since – I discuss that individually with you.
What is included in maintenance?
Minor content changes such as new opening hours, texts or images, technical updates in the background, and quick help when something doesn't work as expected. For €39/month without hosting, or €49/month including hosting, domain and SSL. Larger rebuilds or new features are not included and get their own quote.
What if I need more than five pages?
Then you get an individual quote. The prices here apply to a scope of up to 5 pages – beyond that the effort depends too much on the specific case to name a flat figure.
How quickly is the website ready?
That depends on the scope and how quickly content is available. If all texts and images are ready and feedback on drafts comes back promptly, a website can realistically go live within 3 to 7 days.
