What the rental includes.
A rented website from me is not a site-builder template with your logo swapped in. It is designed for your business, and I take care of everything technical.
An individual website
Structure and design are developed for what you offer and who you want to reach, up to 5 pages. That applies to a new website as much as to modernizing an existing one.
Hosting and SSL
The website runs on a server that I look after and is delivered encrypted. You don't need a hosting contract of your own.
Domain
The domain is registered in your name and administered by me for the term of the contract. So it belongs to you, not to me.
E-mail address
Your own e-mail address is included. Backing up your e-mails is your own responsibility.
Ongoing maintenance
Minor content changes such as new opening hours, texts or images, technical updates in the background and quick help when something doesn't work as expected.
What is not included
Texts and image material come from you. A scope beyond 5 pages and rebuilds that go beyond minor changes get a separate quote. Ownership of the website stays with me while it is rented.
Who renting makes sense for – and who it doesn't.
Renting is not the better way for everyone. Both models have their place.
Renting fits if …
you are starting out or self-employed and don't want to put your starting budget straight into a website. If you run a small business and would rather not deal with technology at all. Or if you prefer a fixed monthly amount to a one-time payment – with hosting, domain, SSL and maintenance in a single sum.
Buying is better if …
you plan over several years anyway: from month 35, buying with maintenance and hosting is cheaper than renting. If the website should belong to you and you want to be able to have someone else look after it later. Or if you already have hosting and a domain and want to stay there. Rent or buy: the cost after 12, 24 and 36 months.
Calculated the same way as the cost calculator on the pricing page: renting at €69/month against buying at €690 one-time plus maintenance including hosting at €49/month.

Honestly: renting is the cheaper way in, buying is cheaper in the long run. If you buy and do without maintenance, you pay only the €690 and look after hosting, domain and SSL yourself. The month-by-month view is in the cost calculator on the pricing page.
How it works.
I work fully remotely with clients across Germany and am based in Karlsruhe. You need neither an on-site appointment nor technical knowledge.
A short conversation

Draft
A concrete draft shows early on how your site could look and feel – before everything is finally built.
Your feedback
You tell me what should be different and send texts and images. I work the changes in.
Launch
I put the website online and test it thoroughly. The rental period and payment begin when the website is published.
Term, cancellation and what happens afterwards.
This is what my terms and conditions say (§ 5, § 8 and § 12) – here in plain language.
Minimum term
6 months from the start of the rental period, that is from the day the website is published. After that the contract continues for an indefinite period. There is no automatic renewal for another year.
Cancellation
After the minimum term you can cancel with four weeks' notice to the end of a calendar month. An e-mail is enough.
The website after the contract ends
When the contract ends, the website is taken offline. Design and code stay with me; in the rental model there is no entitlement to the website files. Your own texts, images and logos always belong to you and are released on request.
The domain after the contract ends
The domain is registered in your name. When the contract ends, I cooperate in transferring it to a provider of your choice. Any costs with the new provider are yours.
The mailbox
After the contract ends, the mailbox stays accessible for another 30 days so you can retrieve and back up your e-mails. Then it is deleted.
Switching to purchase
Switching from renting to buying is possible by individual agreement. There is no entitlement to have rent already paid credited against the purchase price.

What does it cost to rent a website?
€69/month net, plus 19 % German VAT. That includes an individually designed website with up to 5 pages, hosting, domain, SSL, an e-mail address and ongoing maintenance. All details are on the pricing page.
Is there a setup fee?
No, the setup cost is €0. The rental period and payment begin when the website is published. If publication is delayed because content or feedback from you is missing, they begin no later than four weeks after the first draft.
How long is the minimum term?
6 months. After that the rental continues month by month and can be cancelled with four weeks' notice to the end of a calendar month. Nothing renews automatically for another year.
Does the website belong to me?
Not in the rental model: the website stays with me for as long as it is rented – in return, hosting, maintenance and technical support are included throughout. Your content and the domain belong to you. If the website itself should be yours, buying at €690 one-time is the right way.
Can I switch from renting to buying later?
Yes, that is possible. What it looks like in your case depends on how long the website has been running and what has been added since – I discuss that with you individually. There is no entitlement to have rent already paid credited.
What happens to my domain if I cancel?
The domain is registered in your name, even though I administer it in the rental model. If you cancel, the domain goes with you: I cooperate in transferring it to a provider of your choice.
How quickly is the website online?
That depends on the scope and how quickly content is available. If all texts and images are ready and feedback on drafts comes back promptly, a website can realistically go live within 3 to 7 days.
Can I also have an existing website renewed in the rental model?
Yes. The rental applies to a new build as much as to modernizing an existing website. What happens in that case is described on the website redesign page.
